CHMP, Inc. was established and incorporated in 1968 as a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Company. The firm expanded its services in 1975 with the addition of an Architectural Division. The current staff includes, Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers, CAD Operators and Clerical Support.

Our portfolio reflects wide array of projects. We are proud that many assignments come from repeat clientele. We believe in building long-term relationships and have found that using our “guiding principles”, based on strong communications promote client satisfaction and quality control.

Our clients include government agencies, such as the Federal government, cities, townships, county highway departments, county drain commissioners, school districts and development authorities. Nongovernmental clients of the firm include contractors, industries, land developers and private businesses.

Given the multi-disciplinary in-house services our Team provides, our design experience in a broad variety of projects, our "In-House" quality control and value engineering process all suggest a professional firm you can count on.

Meet Our Team

David L. Hanoute, AIA (Principal)


David is recognized within the architectural community for his strong design capability and over forty (40) years of professional experience. He has directed a wide range of architectural projects throughout the United States, and specifically worked on a variety of large projects involving management of team resources and second party funds. As President and Principal-in-Charge of CHMP, David accepts the responsibility for the quality of all architectural and engineering development. David has been inspiring CHMP since 1976.

Gregory N. Mason, AIA (Principal)

Vice President, Director of Architecture

Greg has been practicing architecture within the State of Michigan for over 25 years. He has experience in all phases of programming, design, construction documentation, cost estimate and project management. His successful past experience includes complex multi-phased readaptive uses for both public and private facilities including historic restoration/preservation. As a principal and Director of Architecture for CHMP, Greg is responsible for all architectural projects developed by the firm. Greg joined CHMP in 1988.

Kevin E. Cook, P.E. (Principal)

Director of Engineering

Kevin is a 1991 graduate from Michigan State University, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer responsible for design and management of Civil Engineering related projects for private and municipal clients. His experience includes water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, road design, and site design for commercial and residential developments. Kevin has been with CHMP since 1994.
