City of Fenton DPW Building

200 N. Alloy Drive, Fenton, Michigan

This facility was design to replace an existing garage that was both outdated and undersized.  The project scope included office facilities for staff, locker rooms, and an employee lounge.  The response to storage deficiencies included a large indoor storage area for tools, parts, and equipment, including a 3,600 s.f. storage mezzanine.  The maintenance area was designed to include a vehicle wash bay, maintenance bay including a 50,000 lbs. capacity in-ground vehicle lift, and loading bay.  The project also includes an indoor heated garage for the vehicle fleet, utilizing a drive-thru bay design for maximum vehicle storage capacity.  The exterior expression of the office portion incorporated arched windows and a covered hip roof entryway in a design pattern consistent with detailing on the existing City of Fenton main offices.

Outdoor improvements included a fenced yard with a card access gate control system, a fuel dispensing station for both gasoline and diesel, a salt storage barn, material storage bins, and miscellaneous storage out-buildings.  Landscaping was strategically placed to screen all outdoor material storage areas.
