Construction documents for this new facility were completed and let for bidding in January, 2000.  The construction contract was signed mid May 2000.  This new Transit Facility consists of 6,800 square feet of office space; 8,000 square feet of maintenance areas; and over 13,000 square feet of garage area for storage of 34 buses.  In an effort to control costs the majority of the facility will be constructed utilizing a Pre-engineered Metal Building system with a decorative concrete masonry veneer perimeter. The office wing is built with a conventionally framed roof system consisting of a standing seam metal roof system over metal framing supported by decorative masonry loadbearing perimeter walls.  The perimeter exterior walls feature a continuous aluminum and glass ribbon window.  Specialties include an automatic bus wash system, a paint booth, and environmentally friendly inground vehicle lifts.
